About
A contemporary California interior designer and maker, with studio and home in Sonoma — recognised on the Architectural Digest AD100.

Designing from the ground up.
Ron Mann is a contemporary California interior designer and maker. From his studio and home in Sonoma, he custom-designs and builds all the interior and exterior elements of a property — integrating the structure with its terrain so the two become inseparable.
It is an approach recognised on the Architectural Digest AD100 in 2010, and expressed in a signature material language: Corten weathering steel, Douglas fir, and cast-concrete floors inlaid with wood "tusks" and metal plates of bronze, brass, aluminium and steel — completed with hand-printed fabrics by Louise Mann.

All I need to hear is the word — impossible. I like a design challenge and the freedom to execute a new vision.Ron Mann
Built with what the land already gives.
The studio's practice is environmentally sustainable at heart — recycled woods, locally harvested stone and natural materials used throughout, in both construction and furnishing. California recycled woods are worked by California craftsmen; nothing is imported that the region can provide.
